Heritage Acting Troupe, commonly known as HAT, gives students the opportunity to explore theater, develop confidence, work together as a cast, and experience the joy of bringing a production to life.

HAT is one of the many ways HHE families can connect through shared experiences. Students have the opportunity to participate in a theatrical production while learning valuable skills in communication, teamwork, memorization, creativity, and stage presence.
Whether a student loves being in the spotlight or prefers contributing behind the scenes, HAT provides opportunities to be part of something creative and memorable.
HAT may also welcome students outside of HHE membership, providing an opportunity for homeschool students throughout the surrounding community to participate in theater.
Open to All Homeschool Families
HAT is not limited to HHE members. Any homeschool family may participate in Heritage Acting Troupe by paying the applicable HAT participation fee. Non-HHE families are welcome to join productions, build friendships, and be part of the HAT experience.

What Students Experience
Acting
Students develop confidence, expression, and stage presence while learning to portray a character.
Teamwork
Cast members learn to work together, encourage one another, and contribute to the success of the production.
Creativity
Theater gives students a place to use imagination through character, costumes, sets, and performance.
Responsibility
Students practice memorization, preparation, punctuality, and following through on their role.
Confidence
Performing in front of others helps students grow in courage, communication, and self-assurance.

Meet the HAT Directors
Darrel & Jody Brown
HHE Leaders & HAT Directors
Darrel & Jody Brown have served as HAT directors since 2022, when Jody began directing alongside Natalie Ogbourne for Outlaws, Goldmines, & Whatnot. Jody leads the theatrical side of HAT, while Darrel plays an important role behind the scenes by building and preparing the sets that help bring each production to life. From auditions and rehearsals to performance weekend, they, witht he help of their team of volunteers, help create an organized, encouraging, and memorable theater experience for HHE students.
