Field Trips
Real places. Real learning. Real friendships.
HHE field trips give homeschool families the opportunity to take learning beyond the kitchen table, explore interesting places together, and make memories with friends along the way.
Learning Beyond Home
One of the joys of homeschooling is the freedom to learn in the places where history happened, science can be experienced, animals can be observed, and new ideas can come to life.
Throughout the year, HHE families may have opportunities to visit educational destinations, cultural attractions, businesses, museums, farms, parks, historical sites, and other places that make learning memorable.
Why We Love Field Trips
Hands-On Learning
Students can see, hear, touch, explore, and experience subjects in ways that books alone cannot provide.
Friendships
Field trips give students and parents another opportunity to spend time with other homeschool families.
Discovery
A single visit can spark a new interest, hobby, career idea, or area of study.
Real-World Learning
Students get to connect what they learn at home with real people, places, jobs, history, and experiences.
Adventure
Sometimes the best learning happens simply because families get out, explore, and try something new.
Community
Shared experiences help build relationships and strengthen the HHE homeschool community.
Where Might We Go?
Field trip opportunities can vary from year to year depending on availability, interest, volunteers, and opportunities in our area.
How HHE Field Trips Work
Watch for an Announcement
New field trip opportunities are shared with HHE families throughout the year.
Review the Details
Families receive information about the destination, ages, cost, schedule, and registration deadline.

Families register according to the instructions provided for that particular trip.
Explore Together
Show up ready to learn, enjoy the experience, and spend the day with other HHE families.
Choose the Trips That Fit Your Family
HHE families are not expected to participate in every field trip. Some families may join nearly every opportunity, while others choose only the destinations that fit their interests, ages, schedule, and budget.
Field trips are meant to add flexibility and opportunity to your homeschool year, not another obligation.
Field Trip Expectations
- HHE field trips are organized for member families unless otherwise stated.
- Parents or guardians remain responsible for supervising their children unless specific arrangements are communicated for an event.
- Families should register by the announced deadline so coordinators can provide accurate attendance numbers.
- Some destinations may have age restrictions, attendance limits, fees, or special requirements.
- Families are expected to respect the host location, its staff, other visitors, and HHE group expectations.
